Publishing Strategy for Authors
by Steph. Anderson
An example of this working, for a batch of twenty, is the overheads:
to Print the books - £112 (from ASAP Glasgow)
to Cover the books - £28 (from SoapBox Design Co. Glasgow)
to Bind the books - £30 (from Camerons Glasgow)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overheads (or Capital Investment) = £170
Unit Price of your books (20 copies) = £8.99 = £179.80 : subtract Overheads £170
Therefore at your chosen price you make £9.80 profit (but remember, you get back
what you paid for your Overheads).
Profit starts when you sell the books at your chosen price.
(= £179.80 - £170 = £9.80 profit per 20)
